Sorry sorry sorry!! It has been so long since I have last updated and I feel horrible about it. Things have been so busy around here that I havn't had much time to sit down and relax for a while now. But, there is finally a lull in the office which I am now going to take advantage of. Here is what has been going on in my life the past few weeks:
- I finally stepped up and got my wisdom teeth out!! I am very proud of myself that I finally went through the whole process. I get very nervous at the thought of being put under and IV's and everything, but the Oral Surgeon I went to was so wonderful and she was very quick and thorough. I have to give her a big thanks because she made the entire process a rather enjoyable one. Well... as enjoyable as teeth pulling can be hahah. She even let me keep two of the teeth!!! Hahaha. I barely had any swelling, no bruising, and the pain was somewhat tolerable with the help of a lot of advil and some of the pain killers they gave me. A little advice to anyone who has never needed to take pain killers, take the minimum amt prescribed, because your stomach will not appreciate very much more than that and you will get sick. Like I did. It's been a little over a week now and I am back to eating foods but mainly still non solids. I would kill for a giant burger or something that I could sink my teeth into but I have to take my time as the swelling is still there on the inside a bit and my jaw is tight. Not to mention I still have healing and the holes in my mouth :(
- Spring Break! Last week was spring break. It was as you can tell, the week I decided to have my teeth taken out so I obviously didn't do much other than drool, sleep, and eat apple sauce and pudding. But, I still enjoyed the time off and that I could relax for a bit. I know I will need the rest for these next few weeks as school wraps up. Many people go to these exotic/tropical spring breaks where they go and spend lots of money to be with mass amounts of other college kids being crazy. I on the other hand, if I had the money to do so, I still probably wouldn't. That type of a spring break does not appeal to me. As I would much rather use it to travel to Europe or even better yet, save so I can pay for my rent and bills which will be coming right after graduation. Still, I was a little envious at the thought of other people being able to enjoy the sun and warm weather as I would do anything to make these winds and the chill stop. Soon enough though, Friday was the first day of spring and it only gets better from here.
- Midterms were right before spring break and I was very glad to get those over with. Overall, each of my classes seem to be progressing right along very quickly. A big focus now, is to study for the boards. We've been doing team jepoardy style trivias in Clinical III Class from previous years Boards Exam Questions and Senior Seminar we have a previous professor coming in to go over some old material with us to refresh.
-Over break I booked the date of when I am taking my boards exam. It is in late May after graduation and I am very very nervous but so excited. I cannot wait! But that definately means that I have to buckle down the two weeks in between finals and graduation to study my butt off for the exam. I put in my Cover Letter and Resume at a few different area hospitals/treatment centers for a position as a Radiation Therapy Technologist and I am anxiously awaiting to hear back about interviews. At this point I would be greatful even for the opportunity for the interview because there is such a job shortage out there in my field (in all fields pretty much), that an Interview is even a step more than some other people are getting.
- Here's the big one, I saved the best for last....

I am leaving this Friday morning for CHICAGO!!!!!!!!! woohooO!! I'm sooo excited the trip is going to be very very fun. I am going to bring my camera and try to remember to use it too haah. We have been practicing for the competition but the part i'm really happy about is that they are going to do so many lectures on important topics we need to know for the boards so hopefully it will be a big big help. The people i'm going with are Ryan, Nicole, Al, Kim and Michelle, the other clinical students, and my two advisors Gina and Gidget. It will be so much fun to go on the trip with all of them. I have never been to the city there and I am excited to wander around and see what it's like. I hear its beautiful there and hopefully via my pics you will all be able to see that too. Our hotel looks pretty trendy/fun. The pics they have of the outside and the lobby are really pretty and the reviews are pretty good. Fun Times!! I will have a good blog for you guys when I get back. I promise!
