It's almost that time of year...

So, a semi-heated discussion was just initiated here at the office with some fellow ambassadors. The time of year is rapidly approaching where people dress up in their most original ideas for a costume and go out on the town. Yes, Halloween is only about a month away. This year, it happens to fall on a Friday. This is no doubt going to make many people happy as it usually falls on an awkward week day and leaves people debating which weekend (before or after Halloween) to go out dressed up. Anyways, back to my original thought, it has recently come to my attention that I have an issue with current Halloween Costumes and even what should be refered to as costume attempts. I miss the days of when people would truly become original and show up at a Halloween party wearing something that makes everyone think I can' t believe I didn't think of that or That is absolutely awesome. Instead, now I find that often the situation is the following: guys arriving dressed up in some generic costume pulled out of their own dresser or often no costume at all. Girls arriving in what was sold in an overpriced package labeled as a costume that consists often of one or two pieces of tiny fabric that leave barely anything to the imagination. What about the good old days of haunted houses and costumes that required legit scissors and some hardware? Here are a few costumes that I've run into that have impressed me....

Granted it may be hard to get in doors but still, awesome.

Here is craftsmanship at its finest....two guys dressed up as a

Gameboy and a matching NES controller. Granted it may take some more time than others, but it's legendary.

Moral of the story people, take the initiative, and be creative. Hell if you can't be crafty on your own, hire a friend. My assignment is given a month in advance, no excuses! I will be out on the prowl with my camera for some good costumes. Get to work kiddies!!! For now, I gotta run to class, catch ya lata!!
